Helena Wahlman is one of the photographers choosen to supply images to Image Bank Sweden, whose aim is to promote Sweden and make the country visible abroad.
Image Bank Sweden is administered by the Swedish Institute – a public agency that promotes interest and confidence in Sweden around the world, and Visitsweden.com (Sweden’s official website for tourism and travel information). It is a cooperative effort with the Swedish Government offices, The Swedish Trade Council, and Invest Sweden (a government agency under the Ministry for Foreign Affairs).

During November and December 2010, I was hired by the Swedish Institute to photo blog on Sweden.se, Sweden’s official website (the main portal sweden.se has about 2.5 million visitors per year). The idea was to portray everyday Swedish life to international visitors, as a contrast to the glitter of tourist publications. The blog was also equipped with a Google map that just a few of months later had received 85 000 visits.
